What is Qurbani?
Qurbani is the sacrifice of an animal for the sake of Allah (SWT).
Muslims around the world make an animal sacrifice on the 10th, 11th or 12th day of Dhul Hiijah to commemorate the obedience of the Prophet Ibrahim (AS). Allah (swt) asked Ibrahim (AS) to sacrifice his son Ismaeel (PBUH) and both surrendered to His (SWT) command. But before Ibrahim (PBUH) could obey, Allah provided a ram for slaughter instead.
Helping the Poor
Mercy Welfare Trust has been distributing Qurbani in some of the poorest parts of the world for the past 12 years. During this time, we have helped over 10,000 people experience the joy and blessings of Eid. This year, our efforts continue in Layyah, Pakistan—one of the country’s most impoverished regions—as well as in the peripheral areas of Azad Kashmir, ensuring that those most in need are not forgotten

Can I give more Qurbani?
The Prophet (SAW) himself carried out multiple Qurbani for himself and the Ummah. You may wish to follow his sunnah and perform more than one Qurbani; one for yourself and one for someone who cannot afford for themselves or one for the ummah; this is permissible and a beautiful act to think of those less fortunate whilst also reviving the sunnah.
‘The Prophet (ﷺ) sacrificed for the one who could not sacrifice from his ummah, one who bore witness to the Oneness of Allah and [his] Prophethood’
